Built Right Pools is a relatively new business that has been recently started by Shane Griffith from Mermaid Waters on the Gold Coast. Whilst the company might only be young the experience behind the company is very deep with myself being in the pool industry for approx 18 years.
Being a carpenter by trade and also obtaining my Medium rise builders license in Queensland, I first started in the swimming pool industry being employed to build Pool Plugs and Moulds for the largest Pool Company in Australia BARRIER REEF POOLS some 18 years ago. After building a host of new pool shapes for not only the Australian but also the American Market I then evolved into the Agent Manager for Barrier reef pools running all of the pool agents in Australia. Whilst in this position I also had a great opportunity to meet all the leading Filtration manufactures that supply the swimming pool industry giving me a solid understanding of pool equipment along with water hydraulic expertise. The experience obtained in this position turned out to be priceless not only running the agents but for the later years in this position and with my past building experience I also started running the installation team out of head office in Beaudesert. Over this time installing over 300 swimming pools locally to the Barrier Reef Pools factory in Beaudesert Queensland.

The beginning of your pool installation! During these first stages, stuff like rocks, debris and dirt will need to be safely extracted from the area so the pool shell fits! Around this time, your pool shell will arrive to the installation site, ready for us to begin the next stage of installing your pool!
Levelling the dug out pool area is incredibly important to distribute the water correctly, and also to make sure the shell is in the right place to help it withstand any earth movements. Your optional extras will arrive as well, depending on what you ordered. We’ve also installed your pool control area for an automated pool system, so when your pool is lifted in, it’s ready to start doing its job.
Today is the day where everything starts to fall into place. The hole has been dug, the plumbing and automated control has been set up and the next step is to put the pool shell in the hole. Our crane will arrive onsite to drop your pool in and after checking to see if the pool is level with the hole, we complete the plumbing going into the pool, as well as connecting it with the pool system.
We provide a service that can cater for all your needs. For our tiling option we start by concreting the area which you’d like the tiles, from there we wait till the concrete sets, from there we’ll make up a mix to keep those tiles on the ground and looking good! We go above and beyond with this by making sure each tile is level and the pattern goes together leaving you with a stunning pool area.

What does the Australian Standards 5 Tick Certified Product mean?
All materials supplied are rigidly controlled to meet performance specifications. There are no exceptions. This applies to gelcoat, resins, glass reinforcing materials, additional fixtures and fittings. All these materials are Lloyds of London/ DNV approved products for the manufacture of fibreglass swimming pools.
Every pool is embossed with our name as well as a unique 5 digit number which enables tracking and tracing of that pool. Easy for everyone to identify. Our master files record and document quality tests and results. We also keep and store a cut out of every pool shell manufactured in our Barrier Reef Pools library, making it easy for future reference. It’s a simple decision . . . When you want the best buy the best.
The more pools we installed the greater the passion was building inside myself to do this for my own company. Eventually an opportunity arose to sell pools on the Gold Coast and I jumped at the idea. I soon acquired my NSW licenses as a Carpenter / Joiner, Builder and swimming pool builder and I am currently selling and installing pools also on the Northern end of New South Wales from Evans Heads to the NSW / Qld border and the Gold Coast / south side of Brisbane areas.
Our aim over the up coming years is not to be the biggest pool builder through this area but to definitely be a pool builder that delivers some good old fashioned service with customer satisfaction.
